Cakes and pastries recipe

Zebra cake was in my to do list for long and here I am with the eggless version of zebra cake, I some how love this pattern every where. This cake was the first one I made for Bm and I was quit unhappy that it was so simple to go for the marathon but still as I didn’t have enough time to redo am just posting what I have. Now though this cake may look so  intricate it is pretty much each and you can make it very easily. Though My h is not a big fan of cakes he was just amazed seeing the pattern when I cut them. I Made this cake in a 6 inch pan so 2 slice was had by us and shared 2 more slice with friends and they liked it too. This cake with vanilla and chocolate taste really delicious and they turned out moist too.  I am not happy with the zebra pattern I got but still this was enjoyed by everyone around me..Now moving on to the recipe..

Eggless Zebra Cake

                                         Category   Preparation time     Cook Time
                                          Cookies
            15 mins
    30-45 mins

  Ingredients

Eggless Cakes Recipe  All purpose flour( Maida)-1 1/2 cups

  Thick curd-1 cup
  Sugar powder-1 cup
  Baking soda-1 tsp
  Baking powder-1 tsp
  Cooking oil-1/2 cup
  Vanilla essence – few drops
  Cocoa powder-2 tbsp
Milk- 1/2 cup ( or more)

   Method
  • Pre heat the oven at 350 F . Grease a 6 inch cake pan with butter and dust some flour or cocoa pd on the pan. Tap off the excess and keep it ready.
  • In a bowl sieve all purpose flour , baking soda, baking pd .
  • In another bowl mix curd, vanilla essence, sugar pd, cooking oil, Milk and mix them well till combined.
  • Now divide the cake batter to equal parts and sieve cocoa pd in one part.
  • Mix them well till combined. Now take the greased pan and pour 2 tbsp of white batter and then 2 tbsp of cocoa batter , continue this till all the batter is done. If you do it carefully you can see concentric circles of alternating colors.
  • Tap the tin well to release any air bubbles then bake the cake at 350 F for  30- 45 mins or if a tooth pick inserted comes out clean.
  • Once the cake is done let it sit on the cake pan for 5 – 10 mins then invert the cake on a wire rack.
  • Cool the cake before you make a cut to avoid crumbling and voila the zebra pattern comes out so gud.
