Beverages are a very important part of everyday human life. Most people cannot go a day without having a cup of coffee or tea. Some people have a preference for tea, others on coffee, while a certain percentage doesn’t mind either of the two. Regardless of which your favorite is, it is important to understand the role of these two beverages in your life.

For the most part, coffee and tea are loved for their roles as stimulants. These hot drinks are perfect boost of energy to get you along the day. Still, did you know that there are several different types of tea and coffee? They vary from an area of production as well as the amount the processing of the beverage. Here is a look at five different types of tea and coffee, along with some of the health benefits thereof:

Types of tea and their benefits

  • Green tea

Most people praise green tea for its ability to help with body mass and weight issue. A great example of a terrific green tea is the matcha green tea latte that is loved for its antioxidant properties and incredible support for weight loss. Technically, there are several types of green tea. However, they are all similar in supporting weight loss. The science behind green tea is that it speeds up metabolism, increases fat and calorie burn, all of which work together in the weight loss process. Besides, green tea is a favorite in introducing antioxidants in your body that flushes out any toxins.

  • Black Tea

Black tea is one of the most popular types of tea in the world, especially because it acts as a base for most types of flavored teas. It features the leaves of the Camellia sinensis plant, which are dried in the sun before production, unlike with green tea. It comes with a slightly bitter taste to it, which is why most people prefer to add in a little milk to their black tea. The tea is great in protecting the lungs by improving cholesterol profile and decreasing airway obstructions. Besides, the tea can help regulate your blood pressure, and lower the risks of type 2 diabetes.

  • White tea

This is a delicate type of tea, based on how minimally it is processed. Unlike with the other types of teas mentioned above, while tea is made from leaves and buds of the Camellia sinensis plant before they are fully open. At that stage, the plant is covered in silvery-white hairs, which is where the tea gets its name, regardless of being a pale yellow tea when served. Since it is minimally processed, white tea is uniquely known for its anti-cancer properties. It is also amazing when it comes to healthy skin and hair. Besides, it is a great way to prevent tooth decay.

  • Pu-erh tea

Pu-erh tea is a black-type of tea made from aged and fermented leaves. It is why the consumers of this tea praise it for its rich flavor. The tea is a great support in weight loss and goes a long way in reducing bad cholesterol in your body. Further, people with metabolic syndrome are encouraged to take this type of tea.

  • Oolong tea

Like all the other types of tea in this article, Oolong tea is made from the Camellia sinensis leaves. The difference is in the processing. Ideally, the leaves are withered under the strong sun to promote oxidation. Most of the benefits of black and green tea are shared by Oolong tea as well, including, blood-glucose levels and reducing the cholesterol level in your system.

Types of coffee and their benefits

  • Espresso

Espresso is a thick type of coffee with an Italian origin. It is made by passing some amount of almost boiling water through finely-ground coffee beans under high pressure. This coffee is a combination of several different types of coffee beans that are finely ground. This is what makes the difference between espresso and typical coffee. It will go a long way to help with your allergies, calorie burn, and concentration.

  • Cappuccino

Cappuccino has Espresso as its base but is spiced up with steamed milk foam instead of milk itself. The beverage is then flavored with cinnamon or chocolate powder. This coffee is ideal for a healthy heart and improved digestion.

  • Latte

A Latte is also an espresso-based type of coffee. However, steamed milk and milk foam are added to it. It differs from cappuccino when it comes to flavor. You can opt for different flavors today, including, beetroot latte, carrot cake latte, or turmeric latte, to mention a few. It is very beneficial for reducing the risks of type 2 diabetes as well as help in burning body fat. Other benefits are dependent on the flavors you choose.

  • Mocha Frappe

People with a sweet tooth always opt for a Mocha Frappe coffee. The coffee features the following ingredients: coffee, chocolate syrup, sugar, condensed milk, and whipped cream. It is highly beneficial in improving bone density, fighting depression, and maintaining a healthy liver.

  • Green Bean Coffee

Green bean coffee is the most different from all the other types. It is extracted from unroasted coffee beans, then mixed with hot water, honey, sugar, and/or cardamom for added flavoring. The coffee increases blood circulation in our body, all while regulating blood pressure, reducing bad cholesterol and promoting weight loss.
