Salads are always the refreshing side for any meal. I love to include salad a lot in my meal and also experiment with some unknown veggies in it. Jicama was one of the unknown veggies I discovered only after seeing them in walmart. I made jicama fries already and now it time for a salad. Jicama is an mexican yam which is an tuber and is said to be a very healthy. People make diffrent kinds of salads with them and they taste yummy when are eaten raw with some dressing in a salad.
Jicama and orange salad is very unique and difinitely an delicious salad . This is quick to make and avery colorful salad with lots of flavors. I happens to me one of my fav salad and i love them. This my Viji of Viruthuunna vanga challenged fruits of SYS and I got a veru delicious juicy orange so this salad goes to SYS series. Linking it to Virunthu unna vaanga.
Ingredients
1/2 Pound Jicama
1 medium Orange
Salt as needed
1/4 tsp chilli flakes
1-2 Nos green chillies
2-3 tbsp Cilantro
1 tbsp Orange juice
1 tbsp lemon juice ( as needed)
1/4 tsp Sugar
1/4 cup Spring Mix ( any greens you like)
Method
- Peel the jicama and cut them to sticks ,take out the orange wedges without pith.
- Add all the ingredient in a salad bowl and toss the with fort and a spoon and serve them.
