Sandwich Chutney / Green chutney with Cucumber | Green Chutney

February 10, 2014 By

Who doesn’t like to have sandwiches for breakfast or for brunch time snack . They are our family fav always , my mom used to make delicious green chutney which is spread on a soft spongy bakery bread and some sliced veggies is topped to make a very yummy sandwich. Few days back when i had a  chat with my mom she said she made sandwich and I missed them a lot her chutney was always an hit and I so asked her secret recipe and she just told me to add some cucumber to the normal green chutney . so I did so and I was amazed to taste a very delicious sandwich chutney .

Thanks to my mom for revealing the secret ingredient and I was so happy to taste the sandwich my moms way :). This chutney can used for any chaats , as am accompaniment for some indian fried snack or for Tiffin items . They go well with all but they taste best when used for sandwiches. Lets move on to the recipe.

Ingredients

1 Bunch Coriander leaves ( Cut and discard the bottom stem and Chop)
1 Bunch  Mint Leaves ( pluck only the leaves)
1 medium size Cucumber ( peel the skin and chop)
1 small marble size Tamarind
3-4 Green Chillies ( Adjust as per you taste )
Salt to taste

Method

  • In a blender put chopped coriander leaves, mint leaves , cucumber , green chillies , tamarind  and salt .
  • Add only little water as the moisture in the leaves help them in blending.
  • Blend them to a smooth chutney till all the ingredients get well combined.
  • Use it as an accompaniment for any tiffin/ snack items or it tastes best with sandwich.
Sending to Jagruti’s Potluck party
