Elaneer Nungu Mocktail

May 8, 2014 By

Mocktail recipes
Summer is right here and am so excited to try some cool and delicious drinks . To begin to drink thirst I chose the Mocktails theme for this weeks BM .. Mocktails are my all time fav when the sun is up shinning on your head , to keep you hydrated and cool this is perfect way to quench your thirst. Me and my sibling used to wait for summer just to enjoy some palmyra fruit/ Nungu in tamil . The peeling process is lil  tedious but the fruit inside is worth taking the pain ..When I was thinking on what shall make in mocktails i first checked my fridge and found tender coconut and Nungu tins so just combined them to make this refreshing drink..Check out the Blogging Marathon page for the other Blogging Marathoners doing BM#40.
Mocktails are like any fruit juice which does not include any alcohol where as Cocktails include Alcohol in them. The name by itself Means imitate  that means they are imitating cocktails. Many cocktails can be converted to mocktails but substituting non alcoholic drink these drink are prefixed  by ” Virgin”. Here I just made my own version of mocktail with Tender coconut and palmyra fruit. lets move on to the recipe..

Ingredients
Tender coconut – 1/2 cup ( Chopped- I used frozen tender coconut)
Nungu / Palmyra fruit – 2 Nos
Honey – 1 tbsp
Lemon – 2 tsp
Coconut water / elaneer – 2-3 tbsp
Chilled sparkling water / Soda  –  1 Cup
Ice cubes as needed
Method
  • In a blender put all the ingredients and blend them till smooth.
  • Add coconut water as needed to make it thin.
  • Take some ground puree in a tall glass and top them with sparkling water.
  • Chill them and serve them with lots of ice cubes.
